It began on June 27, 1864, with an early morning artillery bombardment against Confederate forces on top of Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia. It was followed by a Union attack consisting of thousands of troops who were fiercely repelled by the Southern defenders. Realizing the assault was an utter failure, Major General William T. Sherman called it off. In spite of this setback, the general's objective—to break through the Confederate line of defense and capture Atlanta—was eventually fulfilled.
The official film of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, this film is narrated by actor Peter Coyote and uses recreations and historical accounts to recount this famous battle of the Atlanta Campaign.Product Details
