The Vietnam Women’s Memorial was sculpted in bronze by Glenna Goodacre. The statue portrays a woman comforting a dying soldier, a standing woman searching the sky as if for a medevac helicopter, and the kneeling woman reflecting on the futility and anguish of war. The statue was dedicated on November 11, 1993 on our National Mall on the grounds of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
