Dedicated on November 11, 1993, the Vietnam Women's Memorial commemorates all the women—about 265,000—who served not only in Vietnam but also in military bases around the world during the Vietnam era. Of the 11,000 women who served in-country, about 90 percent were nurses in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. All of those nurses served voluntarily, and many of them suffered the emotional and physical wounds of war while serving in the combat theater. Eight military women and dozens of civilian women died while serving in Vietnam.
This DVD features a live film recording of the Vietnam Women's Memorial dedication ceremony, including remarks by then-Vice President Al Gore and a number of other speakers.Product Details
