Canada Geese are common throughout much of the U.S. and Canada. They are often seen in pairs or small groups on open water, fields, grasslands and even golf courses. During winter months, some migrate to the southern U.S. To reduce wind resistance, flocks fly in a V-shaped formation. Tired leaders drop back and are replaced by fresher birds.
