This Piece is a Historical Reproduction
This design appears in the sketches drawn by John Greene between 1667-1672. He was a member of the Glass Sellers Company, King's Arms Glass Shop in London. His sketches include some four hundred designs that were imported from Venice and made by Murano Glassmaker Allesio Morelli. This style glass was used for wine, and was one of several so-called John Greene glasses found at Jamestown. This piece measures approximately 5" high.
All of the Jamestown Glasshouse produced pieces are hand-blown and crafted by local artisans. The natural color of glass is green so if you seek historical accuracy then your best selection is the green glass items. Since every piece is hand blown and crafted there will be slight irregularities and therefore no two items will be exactly the same.
DO NOT PUT THESE HANDBLOWN GLASS ITEMS IN A DISHWASHER OR OVEN THEY ARE TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE.
