From 1892 to 1924, 3.4 million children made the long voyage from the only homes they knew in Europe to the Promised Land with their families. Arriving tired and hungry, their long journey was not yet complete. Many hours were spent waiting in the great halls of Ellis Island for inspection under the observant eye of Lady Liberty, only to have some families torn apart after descending the "Stairs of Separation". Once they passed the health tests and if their paperwork was all in order, then Ellis Island boys and girls could begin their new life in America.
These dolls are about 10 inches tall.
