Cherry Blossom Festival Kite

Each Spring, the National Capitol celebrates the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The cherry blossoms were a gift from Japan in 1912 to symbolize the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan. The festival draws more than one million people into the nation's capital every year to welcome the arrival of Spring.
