Description

Each year Washington, D.C., celebrates the gift of ornamental cherry trees from Tokyo, Japan. In a ceremony on March 27, 1912, First Lady Helen Herron Taft and Viscountess Chinda, wife of the Japanese Ambassador, planted the first two trees of the thousands which were shipped to the city. National Mall & Memorial Parks celebrates history, culture, and nature in the heart of the city. This magnet measures 3.5 inches high by 2.5 inches wide.
