The Siege of Fort Pulaski lasted over a hundred days, but the bombardment lasted only 30 hours. In those 30 hours, the new technology of rifled guns made coastal fortresses like Savannah's Fort Pulaski completely obsolete.
The bombardment is depicted on this pin in great detail and pastel colors. On the pin, six Union soldiers, identifiable by their blue uniforms, stand around a rifled cannon during the bombardment of Fort Pulaski. The lapel pin is outlined in reflective silver with a black border which reads the name of the monument as well as its location.
Wear this lapel pin as a conversation starter at your next formal event or as a way to telegraph your interest in our nation's history and our national monuments! This lapel pin can also be cleverly used to mark your visit to Fort Pulaski on a map!
