Dry Tortugas National Park consists of the seven Dry Tortugas Islands, named by the Spanish for the turtles that nest there, and Fort Jefferson, an unfinished coastal fortress. This unique park is only accessible by private boat or seaplane!
The park's area is 99% water and includes nesting grounds for a number of different turtle species, as well as some truly amazing coral reefs that provide important habitats for fish.
This patch represents the park's aquatic biodiversity and underscores the importance of protecting this location for future generations to enjoy.
