Approximately 11,000 American military and civilian women served in Vietnam during the war. The majority of these women were nurses. In 1993 the Vietnam Women’s Memorial was dedicated to honor the more than 265,000 civilian and military women who served around the world during the Vietnam Era.
This bronze colored patch is a miniature replica of the Vietnam Women’s Memorial. The patch depicts a woman comforting a dying soldier, a standing woman searching the sky as if for a medevac helicopter, and a kneeling woman reflecting on the futility and anguish of war. Sew this patch onto your favorite jacket as a remembrance to all the women who served during the Vietnam era.
