Anyone who has been severely hurt in an accident appreciates medical attention. When it comes to injuries we can't just patch up ourselves, like broken bones or agonizing cuts, we cherish medical help, even if we don't say it. How much more important is the medical assistance provided to wounded and dying soldiers during wartime. Some 10,000 US servicewomen performed the much needed role of nurses during the Vietnam War, caring for the men who were suffering from combat wounds and worse.
Standing as a permanent memorial to the service and sacrifice of those women, the Vietnam Women's Memorial was dedicated in 1993. It honors those women and educates the public about their service. This poster remembers that dedication, bearing a color image of the memorial statue.
