On April 14th, 1865, in Ford’s Theatre, America’s 16th president was struck by an assassin’s bullet. That assassin, John Wilkes Booth, then jumped from the balcony, shouted "Sic Semper Tyrannis" and escaped. For the next 12 days, Booth went on the lamb. Cornered in a farm house, Booth refused to surrender and in the ensuing fight Booth was mortally wounded— dying two hours later.
This magnet is a reproduction of the wanted posters drawn up during those 12 days. Booth and his accomplices, and their bounties, are faithfully reproduced. On your fridge, this magnet is bound to be a conversation piece and an opportunity to share your love for the National Park Service with guests and visitors!
