Uncle Sam’s appearance on a World War I army recruiting poster in 1917 is perhaps the most icon version of this symbol of all things American. Illustrated by the aptly named J.M. Flagg, this poster was actually based on a British recruiting poster from three years earlier. It depicted Lord Kitchener, Secretary of State for War, pointing at the reader and imploring British citizens to "join your country’s army."
We want you!--to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States entry into World War I with this decorative centennial magnet. Made from recycled material and depicting J.M. Flagg's original illustration, this magnet is a great addition to your collection. Put it on your fridge at home or send it as a gift to the history buff in your life.
