Every spring, thousands of ornamental cherry trees reach peak bloom on the National Mall in Washington, DC. This study in pink was a gift to our nation's capital from Tokyo, Japan in 1912. The present of over 3,000 trees was marked in a ceremonial exchange between First Lady Helen Taft and Iwa Chinda, the spouse of the Japanese ambassador.
Ponder the spirit of international friendship as you piece together this Cherry Blossom Tidal Basin puzzle! Depicting the tidal basin and the Jefferson memorial framed by the famous pink flowers, the circular frame adds an extra challenge to this pretty puzzle. It's a great way to conjure your Cherry Blossom memories!

Beautiful puzzle, 14th Apr 2018

This puzzle is very beautiful. It is very interesting that it is packaged flat already put together. It's the first puzzle I've purchased that was packaged that way. The puzzle box comes flat also with instructions on how to fold it together. I rated 4 stars because I haven't decided if I like way it appears to be a less sturdy box for long term storage of the puzzle.
