Poet and educator Henry Wadsworth Longfellow lived in this yellow mid-Georgian mansion in Cambridge, Massachusetts for 45 years. Originally built in 1759 for a Loyalist family, the house became the headquarters of George Washington during the siege of Boston. In Longfellow's lifetime, the house served as inspiration for his poetry and as a gathering place for his peers.
