A Doric column 352 feet high, Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial is located in Put-in-Bay, Ohio, and overlooks Lake Erie. Construction of the Memorial began in 1912 and was completed in 1915. Topped with a bronze urn weighing 11 tons, the impressive structure was built to honor international peace and the men who fought and died in the Battle of Lake Erie, which occurred not far from that Ohio shore. Six of those men—three American and three British—are interred beneath the monument's rotunda.
This embroidered patch depicts the statue of Commodore Perry in the park's Visitor Center and the Memorial rising in the background.
