George Washington was born on his family’s Pope’s Creek tobacco farm in Westmoreland County, Virginia on February 22, 1732. His great-grandfather was given the land as a wedding gift, and over the years, the land expanded. Though the Washington family primarily profited from the tobacco farming, they also held jobs as justices, sheriffs, militia officers, and other public servicemen.

Our hiking medallion features an image of George Washington, the first president, in a simple yet sophisticated blue and gold outline. Pin this to your hiking stick to commemorate the great George Washington’s beginnings.
