Description

Gifted to Theodore Roosevelt's parents on the occasion of their marriage in 1854, young Roosevelt (or ''Teedie,'' as his family affectionately called him) spent the early part of his life in this Manhattan brownstone that was dirctly next door to his aunt and uncle.  Though his childhood home and birhplace were demolished more than 100 years ago, visitors are invited to explore a recreation of our 26th president's former house, complete with original artifacts from Teedie's younger days.

Now visitors can commemorate their visit by taking home this embroidered patch, featuring an image of the borwnstone along with a silhouette of President Roosevelt in his signature spectacles and Rough Rider hat. Attach this patch to your jacket, bookbag, or other surface for a reminder that even our most rugged president was once a child.
