The Battle of Parker's Crossroads is an example of the bravery Confederate troops displayed in their fight for secession. When Confederate Brig. Gen Bedford Forrest was caught and outnumbered two-to-one his troops didn't immediately run—they fought.
The rebels managed to fight the Union army to stalemate, and at one point demanded unconditional surrender— while still outnumbered!
